Rocco’s Pick of the Week
I’ve been dragging a bit this week . . . not my usual ebullient terrier self. My shoulder and left fore-paw have been bothering me . . . enough so, I wasn’t even too excited about doing my weekly Bend Oregon MLS tour and subsequent “pick of the week.”
Nevertheless, when I’d finished my ablutions, I limped dutifully to the car and clamored rather heavily into the back behind my mistress. We left Broken Top and passed a couple of my favorite homes in Bend, a really neat craftsman cottage in The Parks
and a stunning new home on Tam Lake Court

For my pick this week on the Bend Oregon MLS tour, I went sort of lower/mid range. I selected a nice, single level home off of Butler Market Road on the NE side of town . . . an area I don’t get to much. The home is priced at $219,900 and is not a distressed property.
The home in Bend Oregon is “spotless and lives a lot larger than the square footage” (which I pegged to be at about 1750 square feet). I could hear the sound of traffic (not like my home) a bit, but still it is a nice place. It has 3 bedrooms and 2 baths. I really liked the east-facing back deck with a great hot tub. It felt pretty private.
I felt like lying down in the sun.
Instead, I limped inside and checked out the open floor plan. I really wish my master would get me some glucosamine; I think he’s rather have some Gewurtztraminer!
The kitchen isn’t bad either.
I guess the reason I picked this home is that it’s sort of indicative of what one can purchase for about the median home price in Bend. That area of the market has been quite active (March home sales for Bend Oregon). In fact, in the $100,000 to $225,000 price range, we only have about four months of inventory available in Bend . . . a far cry from just a a year ago.
See you next week . . . same time, same station.
